I've always loved to cook and have vaguely considered writing a food blog for a few years. Recently, my husband and I joined Star Hollow Farm's CSA. A small farm in southern PA, Star Hollow has a weekly food stand in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, DC, during the summer months (bi-weekly in winter). Its CSA program is an alternative to the more commonly used CSA model because, while they offer a weekly box, there is a little more versatility in what--or even if-- we decide to order each week. We participated in a weekly farm box CSA while we lived in Santa Cruz, California. The Two Small Farms CSA, based out of Watsonville, CA, arguably the agricultural heartland of American, was a fantastic program that offered some of the finest quality fruit and vegetables I've ever had the pleasure of eating or cooking with (and my dad's an organic farmer). That said, as a native east coaster I am excited about this PA-based CSA!
In the past, I've greatly enjoyed the challenge of devising delicious and innovative recipes using local, fresh ingredients. I hope that readers will find my weekly culinary adventures both useful and entertaining :-D
